Senior Innovation Engineer - Automation (m/f/d)

Your tasks

• Shape the future of bioprocess automation by developing innovative products and automation solutions—from the initial idea to market readiness.
• Take on the technical leadership of interdisciplinary innovation projects focused on automation technology, and transform concepts into scalable, high-performance technical solutions.
• Develop and implement automation systems that intelligently integrate software, control and regulation technology, electronics, sensor technology, robotics, and mechanical components.
• Identify, evaluate, and integrate future technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine vision, and modern robotics to further develop our product portfolio.
• Serve as the technical expert and architect for automation solutions within product development projects.
• Drive innovation and actively contribute to building and protecting our intellectual property through novel technical concepts and developments.
• Ensure that new products and technologies meet the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements in the life sciences sector.
• Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and external partners to successfully transform innovative technologies into marketable solutions.

Education

• Technical degree with a focus on automation, mechatronics, or electrical engineering
• Several years of experience in the development of innovative automation solutions, preferably in the life sciences sector
• Experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal); experience with Rockwell Automation is a plus
• In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering, control engineering, sensor integration, and system architecture
• Experience leading complex development projects and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Innovative personality with a strong hands-on approach and entrepreneurial mindset
• Independent, structured work style and business-level proficiency in German and English
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
• Very good command of German and English
